Family is important to Kingdom Blue Wave TDK, so we offer an encouraging 50% discount on memberships for each additional family member. This can be accessed by starting an account as the family leader and add family members to that account.
Progression in Taekwondo is best achieved attending at least 2 days + per week and practicing at home daily. On most days there are 2 classes / sessions. Testing for next colored rank usually is approved after about 24 classes / sessions at the discretion of the instructor. This is usually 3 months but can take double that or more if attending just 1 class per week.
Taekwondo is a martial art with some focus on discipline and hierarchy. Although there is no hard age limit, a child must have some ability to work on dojang rules and tradition. The ability to work on uniform presentation, bowing to each other, ordering / staying still in rank lines, listening, working on yes sir yes mama's, etc. is expected. Some reminders are tolerable and normal. Practiced in the Dojang, these skills move into our everyday practice for life.
Notably, I look forward to creating a Little Dragons (age 4-6) group class and / or a neurodivergent group class to support those youth needing this kind of support, so please message any interest in such groups.
